Season’s Greetings from Netball Scotland

19th December 2017

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas time and the very best from the staff and Board of Netball Scotland.  Let’s take a moment to celebrate 12 months of Netball Scotland growth and success.

2017 has been a magnificent year for Netball Scotland, not only do we have our biggest membership to date (6,800 wonderful individuals helping to build the presence and develop the path of netball in Scotland), we have also excelled on the World stage, held more coaching and umpiring courses and workshops than ever before, hosted International, regional, and local member events and completed the debut season of the UWS Sirens.

2018 is already lining up to be an even bigger year for our sport as our Scottish Thistles prepare to take on Northern Ireland and Wales for one of the two spots available in the Netball World Cup Qualifiers this January, quickly followed by the return of the UWS Sirens.  Just a few weeks later, the Vitality Netball Superleague will go on a break for 6 weeks due to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, which many of our UWS Sirens athletes hope to be competing in for their respective home nations.

We would like to take a moment to thank you all for your support throughout 2017.  Without our members, we wouldn’t be able to celebrate such successes as a staff, and we hope that you are all as excited as we are for an action-packed 2018.

The Netball Scotland office will be closed as of 5pm on Thursday 21st December, and will reopen at 9am on Friday 5th January 2018.

Yours in netball,

The Netball Scotland Team
