District Programme 2017/18

Each year, Netball Scotland welcomes District squads from all over the country to compete in our Under 15 and Under 17 programmes.

The purpose of District netball is to offer an annual programme of events to enhance the training programme provided by local Districts.  This in turn should enhance school, club and development centre programmes.  The ultimate hope is that developing players and coaches will be given the chance to create a training environment that mirrors the national squad set up.  Trials should be an open process, ensuring an open invitation to trial is available to all schools and clubs within the District; thereby, giving our young potential players the opportunity to train alongside and be coached by qualified coach’s outwith their school/club set up.  Districts squads should NOT be represented by a school or club team.

The Under 15 structure is split over three North and South events within which Districts from the North and South regions of Scotland play one another to win a spot in the Under 15 District Final.  Teams that do not make the Under 15 District Final event, get the chance to battle it out in the Under 15 Development District Final.

The Under 17 competition kicks off with the Play Off event each season, from which teams are split into the Under 17 Performance League and Under 17 Regional League.

Each season concludes with the prestigious Inter District event.  Open to 10 x Under 15 and 10 x Under 17 teams, this is a one day event separate to the rest of the season.

Squad entries for the 2017/18 District Programme are now closed.

Entries will remain open until 29th June 2017. After this deadline no squad entries will be accepted to the programme.

Developments in the District Programme have been put in place by the Competitions Advisory Group for the 2017/18 season, all improvements can be viewed here.
