Netball Scotland are delighted to announce at the 5th Awards Night 2015 on 14th November, members and invited guests raised a further £3000 towards the Future Stars Programme.
Netball Scotland wish to thank each and everyone of you who contributed to the programme this year. This enables us to help more athletes working towards the World Youth Netball Cup in Botswana 2017.
If you wish to contribute to the Future Stars Programme, please contact CEO@netballscotland.com
Netball Scotland and our Future Stars would like to thank the Arshiel Hotel (Campbeltown) who generously donated an unbelievable £3,000 to kick start our Future Stars Programme. Couple this with the £1,900 raised by the raffle at our 4th Annual Awards Night on 15th November 2014, we have a fantastic pot of £4,900 to assist these players.
In December 2014, Netball Scotland announced that our first ever Future Stars Award will go to Bethany Sutherland. At just 17 years of age, Bethany has competed for the Scotland Under 17 squad in Netball Europe, Scotland Under 21 squad in Netball Europe, Scotland Under 21 squad in the World Youth Netball Championships which were held in 2013, and has just been announced in the Scottish Thistles squad that will travel to Belfast in Feb 2015 to compete in the first ever Celtic Clash. Bethany lives with her family in Golspie, in the Scottish Highlands and currently makes the 220 mile (ONE WAY) trip to Glasgow to train with her team mates. Wow. Being awarded our Future Stars grant will hopefully assist Bethany and her family with the expenses of being one of our brightest stars of the future. Again, we would like to thank Marion and Flora from the Ardshiel Hotel (pictured below with Future Star Bethany) for their generous contribution to this programme.
