Netball Scotland works with Clubs, Districts, Local Authorities, Schools, Colleges and Universities to further coach education in Scotland. 

Netball Scotland has now introduced the new United Kingdom Coaching Certificate for Netball (UKCC) in partnership with England Netball and the Welsh Netball Association.

UKCC LEVEL 2 COACHING COURSE

The UKCC Level 2 builds upon the Level 1 qualification, progressing netball technical and coaching skills as well as further theory on player development in coaching.  For more information on the UKCC, please visit the UKCC page.

PRE-REQUISITES:  Level 1 Netball Award (preferably UKCC); First Aid Certificate; attendance at a Child Protection Course with Certificate

DURATION:   45 hours on-course (5 days)
COST:   £360*
BENEFITS: SQA Qualification, extensive Coaching Manual and Resources, DVD, Rules Book, Festival Handbook, Tuition from UK Accredited Tutors, Certification upon successful assessment, Development Plan
MINIMUM AGE:  18 years.

UKCC LEVEL 1 COACHING COURSE

The UKCC is a new and innovative approach to coaching and is designed to enhance the qualities of coaches and players.  Level 1 is the ideal starting point for coaches with an introduction into the role of an Assistant Coach.  For more information on the UKCC, please visit the UKCC page.

DURATION:   27 hours on-course (3 days)
COST:   £170*

THISTLE-NETBALL 
NATIONAL COACH PROGRESSION COURSE
  
       
This course bridges Mini Netball and the full 7-a-side game. It is aimed at coaches, teachers and parents who will be working with children in late Primary School and early Secondary School, and will help children make the transition from the 5 a-side modified game to the 7 a-side game. The course is presented in a way that encourages individual-centred learning for young people.

DURATION:   6 hours (usually Saturday or Sunday)
COST:   £40 (affiliated), £60 (non-affiliated)
BENEFITS: Coaching manual, Netball Rules Book, Tuition & Certification upon successful completion of the course.
MINIMUM AGE:  16 years.
MINIMUM NUMBER: 15 people
MAXIMUM NUMBER: 25 people


MINI-NETBALL 
NATIONAL COACH PROGRESSION COURSE
   
        
This course is an introduction to Netball and presents a 5 a-side modified game called mini-netball. It is aimed at coaches, teachers and parents who will be working with children attending primary school. The course emphasises enjoyment, greater participation and appropriate skill development for children in Primary 4 to 7. The rules have been simplified and the equipment adjusted so that the game is easily accessable to all children irrespective of ability.

DURATION:   6 hours (usually Saturday or Sunday)
COST:   £35 (affiliated), £55 (non-affiliated)
BENEFITS: Coaching manual, Umpire’s Handbook, Festival Handbook, tuition & Certification upon successful completion of the course.
MINIMUM AGE:  16 years.
MINIMUM NUMBER: 15 people
MAXIMUM NUMBER: 25 people
