Netball Scotland is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and is marking the occasion with a special tournament held in Shetland.
The event which will be held on 25th August 2007 will see teams competing from Shetland, Orkney, Edinburgh, Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire.
This beautiful and most northern island will provide an excellent backdrop for some great netball, offering sightseeing and social engagements as part of the package for the weekend. Shetland Islands Sports Council & the ladies of Shetland Netball club have offered invaluable and support working tirelessly to bring this event to their Island.
Chairperson of Netball Scotland - Brian McKelvie says “it is my utmost pleasure together with members of the association’s board to witness Netball Scotland’s celebrating its 60th year of existence within our most northerly Isle, located, as if by fate at 60 degree’s longitude."
The association is confident that the tournament will be a great success and is looking forward to reporting this to the members in due course.
