Back the Bid! Add your pledge for Brisbane 2032

Netball Scotland is proud to support the bid for netball to be included at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games, adding its voice to a growing global campaign behind the sport.
With momentum continuing to build, backing the bid is an opportunity to champion netball’s reach, inclusivity and ambition, while helping drive the game towards the global platform it deserves.

Backing the bid for netball to be included at the 2032 Olympic Games is about recognising the strength, ambition and global potential of our sport. Netball already inspires players, fans, coaches, officials and volunteers around the world, and Olympic inclusion would be a major step forward in giving the game the platform it deserves.
As of April 2026, Netball’s inclusion at Brisbane 2032 is yet to be confirmed, but the bid remains active and very much alive. World Netball and Netball Australia have continued to engage with Brisbane 2032 and the IOC, with decisions anticipated from mid 2026. Recent updates from World Netball also point to growing momentum behind the campaign, with more than 115,000 people now signed up to the global “Back the Bid” pledge.

For Scotland, Olympic inclusion would mean greater visibility for the sport, more opportunities to inspire young people, and another powerful moment to show what netball can offer on the world stage.

From the grassroots right through to the elite level, the impact could be felt right across the game, helping more people see a future for themselves in netball.
Scottish Thistles Head Coach Kath Tetley said:
“The beautiful part of netball is that there really is a position for everybody in the game, and I think the opportunity to showcase that to a global audience is incredible and really powerful. That is one of the things I love most about our sport — there is a way for everyone to contribute, whether as one of the seven players on court, an umpire, a bench official, a club administrator, or in another role supporting our wonderful game.”
There is real momentum behind the push for 2032, and this feels like the right time to come together behind a bid that reflects both the growth of the sport and the strength of its community. Netball has earned its place in that conversation, and Netball Scotland is proud to back the bid.
