Trials for the 15s Pathway squads and the details surrounding these will be communicated later in 2026.

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION

Playing netball for Scotland at International level is a huge honour and achievement.

You can play for Scotland if you have the commitment, dedication, skills, talent and consistency that are required to excel against the world’s best teams and players.

If you are ambitious and talented, you can join a select group of players who have been capped at International level.

Our international teams compete regularly on the world stage in events including:

Netball World Cup

Commonwealth Games

International Test Matches

Celtic Cup Test Series

Europe Netball Championships (Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21)

Underage test matches v Europe Nations

Netball Scotland work with the Home Office to approve any overseas athletes who wish to play in Scotland.  Please see our Governing Body Endorsement Requirements for full details.

NATIONAL SQUADS - ELIGIBILITY

AGE RANGE:
U17 – 16 on 31st December 2026
U19 – 18 on 31st December 2026
U21 – 20 on 31st December 2026

To be eligible to play for a National Association’s national representative team in any International Event, by the Submission Date for that Event a player must satisfy at least one of the following requirements and their National Association must provide corresponding Evidence of Eligibility to the INF:

(a) be born in that country or have at least one parent or grandparent born in that Country;
(b) reside in and have a fixed address in Scotland for > 2 years (European Competition)
(c) reside in and have a fixed address in Scotland for > 4 years (Commonwealth Games)

CAMPS:

Training camps for all squads will take place on the same weekend each month with longer camps scheduled throughout the school holidays.

Athletes wishing to be selected for, and those who are successful in selection into a National Squad are required to be training and competing at the highest club / representative level weekly;

  • 1st / 2nd University Club Teams that play within BUCS Tier 1A or 2A
  • 1st Division / Premier League Senior Club Team
  • NPL Franchise Squads
  • SuperCup Competition
