NETBALL FOR SUCCESS
Netball for Success is a digital programme designed for schools to deliver to selected pupils in S1–S6. Made up of eight interactive online sessions, each lasting 10–20 minutes, the programme uses active learning to educate young people while keeping them engaged, building understanding, and strengthening relationships.
Sessions can be delivered in any order, giving schools flexibility to fit the programme into their timetable. Once registered, schools will have access to all content until the end of the school year.
Learning themes
The programme explores a range of relevant and meaningful topics for young people, including:
- Alcohol
- Body image and social media
- Exercise
- Human connections
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Railway safety
- Resilience, motivation and goal setting
- Smoking and vaping
Physical activity and empowerment through sport
The purpose of Netball for Success is not only to educate pupils, but also to re‑engage them in physical activity, helping them experience the mental and physical benefits of sport.
To support this, schools receive a resource pack of 18 netball session plans, covering core skills and elements of strategic gameplay. Sessions are suitable for all abilities and experience levels, with built‑in progressions to support development. This provides a meaningful opportunity to empower young people through sport while reinforcing the programme’s key messages.
School Affiliation
To take part in Netball for Success, schools must be affiliated with Netball Scotland. More information on affiliation and how to register can be found here.
HOW CAN YOUR SCHOOL #GETINVOLVED
We partnered with Network Rail to deliver the all-important safety on the railway message. Due to the age of secondary school kids, more and more of them will start travelling by train or pass train crossings on their way to school. It is important to educate them as soon as possible on how to safely conduct themselves near trains and tracks. We are delighted to have this resource supported by Network Rail and be a positive impact in secondary pupils’ lives and educate them purposefully.
