HOW DOES PRIMARY SCHOOL AFFILIATION WORK?

Primary school affiliation is free and permanent. Once your school is affiliated, you are connected to the national netball network and have access to all the support and opportunities below. There is no annual fee and no renewal process.

HOW DO WE AFFILIATE OUR PRIMARY SCHOOL?

Complete the School Sign Up Form on the Netball Scotland website. It takes a matter of minutes: SIGN UP HERE

Once submitted, a member of the Netball Scotland team will be in touch to confirm your affiliation and connect you with your local National Development Manager.

Your local Active Schools coordinator may also be a useful contact if you are looking for information on what netball activity is already taking place in your area.

WE DO NOT CURRENTLY OFFER NETBALL. CAN WE STILL AFFILIATE?

Yes, and this is exactly the scenario the affiliation programme is designed for. Contact us directly and we will support you with resources, teacher training, and session plans to help you get started. We can also connect you with your local National Development Manager who will guide you from there.

A NOTE TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Primary schools are one of the most important parts of how netball grows in Scotland. The pupils who first pick up a ball in a PE lesson are the club players, coaches, umpires, and volunteers of the future. Affiliation is free because we want the barrier to be as low as possible.

Secondary school affiliation is subject to an annual fee of £30 and requires renewal each season, covering the period from September to August.

HOW DOES SECONDARY SCHOOL AFFILIATION WORK?

Secondary schools affiliate annually with Netball Scotland through JustGo, Netball Scotland’s membership platform. Affiliation connects your school to the national netball network and unlocks resources, competitions, support, and development opportunities. Renewal is required each season.

HOW DO WE AFFILIATE OUR SECONDARY SCHOOL?

Step 1: Complete the School Sign Up Form

The form for all schools can be found here: School Sign Up Form.

This registers your school’s details with us and allows us to set your school up on JustGo ahead of affiliation.

Step 2: Log in to JustGo and purchase your affiliation

Once your school has been set up on JustGo by the Netball Scotland team, the teacher or administrator managing your school’s netball account simply needs to log in and purchase the Secondary School affiliation (£30 per year) through the Club Affiliation section:

A NOTE TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Secondary school netball sits at one of the most important points in a player’s journey. It is where casual interest can become genuine commitment and where talented players can be spotted and connected to the pathway. We know that PE departments are stretched and that timetables are full. Netball Scotland wants to make affiliation as straightforward as possible and to provide support that makes your programme better. Your local Active Schools coordinator is also a valuable partner in building and sustaining a school netball programme. If you have not already connected with them, it is worth doing so.
