Netball’s Summer of Sport - get inspired and get involved!
With the Summer of Sport in full swing, we’ve welcomed many people of all ages into our Come & Try activities so far and it’s been brilliant to see so many new faces. There is a version of netball for everyone, from clubs and competitive leagues, recreational sessions just for fun, junior leagues, disability-friendly sessions and even walking netball!
Hot on the heels of the Commonwealth Games and Scotland’s best-ever finish in 8thplace, the Europe Region Netball World Cup Qualifiers are being hosted in Scotland in September at the Playsport Arena, East Kilbride. Come and cheer on the Thistles as they play their first competitive matches after the Games and look to qualify for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney. Relaxed and fun sessions for children and young people up to 16 years old, suitable for beginners and all levels of experience.

RecNet is fun and social, for adults of all backgrounds and abilities. RecNet is relaxed, welcoming, and about enjoying the game.

What to expect:
- Learn the basics of netball
- Build up your skills week after week
- A welcoming space for all abilities and everyone
- Meet new people and socialise
- Fun games & skill-based activities
- Team challenges and match play
Sessions last for 1 hour over 4 weeks in 6 different locations, giving participants plenty of time to develop skills and enjoy the game.

RecNet “Come & Try” Festival
Get inspired. Get active. Get involved.
This summer, we invited anyone aged 18+ to step onto the court and give netball a go! Inspired by the energy and excitement of the Commonwealth Games, and funded by the Glasgow 2026 Festival Fund, our FREE “Come & Try” RecNet Sessions have been the perfect way to get active, make new friends, and fall in love with netball.
To round off all of the great sessions that have taken place, we have organised a RecNet “Come & Try” Festival for everyone to come together, put what they’ve learnt into action, learn more new skills, meet new people, and – most importantly – have fun! It is going to be a fun-filled day of netball activities and great chat – you really don’t want to miss it!

Come along and join us for a FREE, fun, friendly and Inclusive Walking Netball Festival! Off of the back of the Commonwealth games come and try days!

Whether you’re new to netball or have played before, this is a fantastic opportunity to get active, meet new people and enjoy the game at a relaxed pace. The festival is open to older adults and individuals with cerebral palsy, with everyone welcome to take part in a supportive and inclusive environment.
This is a non-competitive festival, designed to give everyone the chance to enjoy walking netball in a relaxed, supportive and social setting. No previous experience is required, and players of all abilities are welcome.

Cerebral Palsy Walking Netball 'Come & Try' Summer Sessions
These sessions are open to adults of all abilities, and individuals with cerebral palsy are warmly encouraged to attend. As Walking Netball is played on your feet and moving at a walking pace, participants should be ambulant. If you have any questions about whether the session is suitable for you, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss your individual needs and any support that may help you participate.
