UPGRADE to Community Coach Award

£125.00The Community Coach Award is the initial step on the coaching pathway for individuals who want to lead sessions within community clubs /settings.
The purpose of this course is to allow learners to develop knowledge and skills they will use to independently plan, deliver, and review coaching sessions under *minimal supervision. Learners will develop an understanding of effective coaching practice in relation to knowing yourself, others and coaching. Learners will build knowledge, confidence, and competence as a lead coach.
Netball Scotland has created the upgrade to Community Coach Award course for current UKCC L1 Coaches who wish to attain the new Community Coach qualification. This is for candidates that are 16+ who hold a UKCC Level 1 coaching qualification.
CANDIDATES
This course is suitable for members that hold the UKCC level 1 qualification. Recommended age is 18
Coaches under the age of 18 should be supervised by a responsible adult. The adults is considered to have a duty of care and is responsible for all participants. It is advised that coaches 18+ have access to indirect supervision of a more qualified/experienced coach who does not require to be in attendance but can provide ongoing support with reviewing their coaching practice, planning etc.
OUTCOMES
On successful completion of this course the learner will be able to:
- Introduce coaching skills in relation to knowing yourself, others and coaching.
- Demonstrate self-awareness in the context of their own role and responsibilities as a coach.
- Prepare the physical environment and equipment to meet the required safety standards.
- Identify and respond to the needs and expectations of participants during a session.
- Lead the planning, delivery, and review of coaching sessions
Successful candidates will be able to lead sessions within a community club setting or similar.
All candidates must complete the following pre course modules:
- Safe Guarding & Wellbeing: Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport
- Disability Inclusion – Step Model (Space, Task, equipment, people), Activity Inclusion Model
- Online Introduction to Umpiring
- To complete at least a minimum online First Aid course
Learners must be at least 16 years old on completion of this course.
DURATION
Pre-Course modules via our Brightspace platform, 3 x virtual workshops (7.5 hours)
ASSESSMENT
Assessments are completed on an ongoing basis throughout the course via our Brightspace platform.
