Overview
For this season’s National League, Dunedin have expanded their playing squad to help with depth. Known for their relentless defensive style, the squad blends experienced players with emerging youth talent to create a well-rounded and adaptable unit. With a strong focus on team cohesion and a commitment to growth, Head Coach Katy MacGregor prides herself on fostering a supportive, hard-working environment on and off the court. Led by Captain Danielle Robertson, the team is looking to improve on their two wins from the 2023/34 competition.

This season, Dunedin Netball Club has expanded their squad from 12 to 15 players to enhance depth and sustainability. With a core of 10 experienced players providing consistency and leadership, the team has also introduced several talented youth players. These new additions bring energy and potential while allowing them to gain valuable exposure to high-level competition.

Coach overview:
Katy MacGregor, Head Coach: “We’re excited for what lies ahead this season. Our expanded squad combines a core group of experienced players with some exciting young additions – we’re blending consistency with raw talent. Our team has worked hard in preseason to refine our unique style of netball and adapt to the evolving competition. I’m incredibly proud of the squad’s growth, resilience, and commitment, and I’m confident we’re ready to make our mark.”
Captain overview:
Captain, Danielle Robertson: “I’m really excited for the upcoming season. We’ve worked hard as a team during the off-season to strengthen our structures and introduce new tactics. As captain, my goal is to keep us grounded and focused, leading by example both on and off the court. We have a great mix of experienced players and fresh talent, and I know we’re ready to tackle the challenges ahead. I’m especially looking forward to the energy from our fans and the opportunity to play against some of the top teams in the league. It’s going to be a season to remember!”
First Match:
Dunedin begin their season in the first match of the day this weekend taking on reigning National League champions Edinburgh Univeristy at 09.35 at the Pleasance in Edinburgh. Last season’s fixture was a tough affair with Edinburgh pulling off a convincing 56 – 24 win.
