Overview
Last season’s runners-up, Strathclyde University are coming into the 2024/25 season with an updated squad after a period of proactive recruitment blending seasoned players with exciting new talent. Known for their tenacity on both attack and defence, under experienced head coach Rachel Cremin the Strathclyde are looking to put in consistent 60-minute performances and earn the right to be in finals on the 25th of May 2025.

The Strathclyde squad looks slightly different this year compared to previous seasons. With the inclusion of Scotstoun Storm, a number of Strathclyde’s national pathway players will return and represent their club of origin – Scotstoun. However, in the offseason, the club have been working hard recruiting a blend of new faces including players who have previously played in the National League and their traditional first-team university stock.

I’m excited to see how this group grows, adapts, and rises to every challenge this season.”

Nic Cosgrove-Clark: “This season is all about building on our successes and putting out performances we can be proud of. Every game in this league is highly contested, and we’re focused on starting strong and improving each time we step on the court.
We’re fortunate to have incredible talent across the board, from ball-winning defenders to lethal shooters, and it’s exciting to see everyone firing together. Personally, after a long time away due to injury, I’m just thrilled to be back on court and part of such a strong and passionate group. Whether it’s executing our game plan or jamming to Mamma Mia, this team brings energy, determination, and pride to everything we do.”
First Match:
Strathclyde University begin their season by taking on last year’s fourth-place finishers Edinburgh Acciess in the second match of the day at 11.15 at Pleasance in Edinburgh. Last season’s clash between the two sides in March saw Strathclyde come out 54-59 victors.
