Scottish Thistles Athletes Claire Maxwell and Lynsey Gallagher amongst Watermans Unsung Sporting Heroes
14th March 2019
There are many inspirational sportsmen and women who don’t always get the media coverage or recognition they deserve. These athletes, coaches, match officials and administrators work tirelessly around the clock, often unpaid, to help others succeed and enjoy sport in Scotland.
In Watermans latest campaign, they want to bring people’s attention to those Unsung Sports Heroes who are currently making a huge difference to sport, at all levels. From Judo and Swimming to Curling and Netball; this piece features both inspirational athletes and those working tirelessly behind the scenes in Scottish sport.
We’re proud to announce that our very own Scottish Thistles and Strathclyde Sirens stars Claire Maxwell and Lynsey Gallagher have been featured as two of their founding Unsung Heroes. Read their stories here, as well as the stories of other Unsung Heroes.
Do you know any other athletes, coaches or volunteers you feel should also be featured on the wall of Unsung Sporting Heroes? If so, you can submit your nomination with why you feel they deserve to be recognised. Along with Claire and Lynsey, they’ll then be entered into a competition to win one year’s sponsorship from Watermans.
