Talk About An Inspiration! Please Meet Suzanne.. Maybe She Will Inspire You Too?

Ever found yourself thinking that you need a little boost or inspiration to get started with a new fitness goal, or perhaps want to make some lifestyle changes?  Well you may want to read on then.  Thank you to the incredibly brave Suzanne, who below shares her amazing weightloss story, all circled around her renewed love of netball.  All thanks to her friends and supporters at BBN Cumbernauld.

I joined BBN Cumbernauld in August 2016.  At this point, I was at my heaviest and my self-confidence at its lowest.  I wanted to be good at sport but I didn’t want to be judged and knew that I would be one of the largest ladies in the group, but I went along and honestly, I haven’t looked back since.  I hadn’t played netball since Primary School and although I knew the basics I was a bit rusty.  When I arrived, Marianne gave me a warm smile and I told her I just wanted to be fitter but wanted to have fun doing it as the gym and running was boring and I never lasted more than two weeks.  Netball gave me a new confidence and a new group of friends and I have loved going every week.

I lost about 1 stone through going to my weekly netball session, and my energy and confidence continued to increase.  I finally found something I was able to commit to, and because of that I knew that I could achieve anything.   I always said sport was not for me, as I never lasted at anything I tried – turns out I just hadn’t found the right sport!

With my new found confidence and determination to be healthier, I joined a local Slimming World group in July 2017 and since then have lost a further 2 and a half stone and play netball socially twice a week with BBN Cumbernauld and a local social team.  I am full of energy and now that I can, I even move out from Goal Shoot to play Centre (!) something I could have only dreamed of before.  It is a fantastic game that has helped me love sport, have more confidence and the drive to be the best me I can be again.

Bounce Back to Netball has given me my confidence and health back!  A friendly and fun social game with no pressures of playing as part of a team in competitions or crazy training schedules.  I know they are all available if I choose to go that way, but the Bounce Back approach is a fantastic way to get people back to the game and really enjoy themselves.
