Anne Stoddart 1938-2022

Netball Scotland is sad to announce that Anne Stoddart, a former Scottish Netball Association committee member and Life Member of Netball Scotland, passed away in December 2022 at the age of 84.

Anne was very involved in netball administration and held many offices including General Secretary of Scottish Netball Association (1971-1979), Treasurer of Scottish Schools Netball (1970-1981), and Convenor and Treasurer of Lanarkshire Schools Netball Association. Anne was an ‘A’ award umpire, a member of the Scottish Netball Association Umpires Board (1975-1979), and she was a qualified netball coach.

Anne was the Scotland umpire on their tour to Canada in 1976, Scottish Netball Association’s delegate to the 1975 World Tournament in Auckland, and also delegate at the 1979 World tournament in Trinidad.

In addition to her netball commitments, Anne was a highly respected member of the community and had a long and successful teaching career of over 32 years culminating as Head of Mathematics and Guidance at Shawlands Academy.
