Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport Training (CWPS)
29th July 2019
Child protection and wellbeing remains a strong focus for everyone at Netball Scotland. New standards have been released by sportscotland which governing bodies need to comply with moving forward.
The UK Coaching Safeguard & Protecting Children (SPC) workshop has now been replaced by Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (CWPS) training. CWPS has been developed in partnership with Children 1st and will take a blended learning approach. This includes an online module (module 1) which is theory-based followed by a face-to-face (or webinar) learning intervention (module 2).
It is compulsory for all practitioners, e.g. all coaches and volunteers working and volunteering directly with children and young people U18, to become compliant with this new standard. All relevant parties have until the 31st August 2020 to do so.
Netball Scotland have organised webinars to facilitate this training for coaches and our next webinar is on Tuesday 17th September from 6:00-9:00pm.
There are limited spaces left on this course, to snap up your place today book here! Dont worry if you miss out this time, further webinar dates will be released shortly.
