From Glasgow 2026 to Sydney 2027: Scotland’s big Netball year set to continue
17th June 2026
Netball Scotland is delighted to confirm that tickets for the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 Qualifier Europe will go on sale from Friday 19 June, as international netball continues in Scotland in September 2026.
Hosted at the Playsport Arena, East Kilbride from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September, these vital tests bring together Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland for three days of high-quality, high-stakes international competition.
With two qualification spots for the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 on the line, the tournament promises to deliver a competitive and exciting weekend of netball, with every match carrying real importance.
The Scottish Thistles will open their campaign on Friday 25 September at 7pm against the Republic of Ireland, before facing Northern Ireland on Saturday 26 September at 5pm. Scotland’s final fixture of the weekend will be against Wales on Sunday 27 September at 2pm.
Thistles Head Coach Kath Tetley is excited about more International Netball at home:
“The World Cup Qualifiers are a critical part of the four-year international netball cycle, and with a place in Sydney on the line, this is a huge moment for the Scottish Thistles and for the sport in Scotland and we would love to see the stands full as the team pushes to secure that World Cup place.”
Across the weekend, fans will also have the chance to watch Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland go head-to-head, with six international fixtures taking place over three days. Tickets will be valid for both matches each day, meaning that supporters can enjoy two international matches for the price of one ticket.
Coming just weeks after Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland compete at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the NWC2027 Qualifiers will continue a huge year for international netball in Scotland. For fans of the Scottish Thistles and fans of live sport, it means another opportunity to get behind the team on home soil – with a place at NWC2027 on the line.
