Glasgow 2026 Unveils Netball Match Schedule for a Blockbuster Commonwealth Games
21st November 2025
Glasgow 2026 has released the official Netball match schedule for next summer’s Commonwealth Games, confirming nine days of world-class action from 25 July to 2 August. Twelve of the world’s top teams will battle it out at the iconic Hydro on the Scottish Event Campus, split into two pools based on World Netball rankings.
Pool A features Australia (1), England (4), South Africa (5), Malawi (8), Tonga (9) and Northern Ireland (12).
Pool B includes New Zealand (2), Jamaica (3), Wales (6), Uganda (7), Scotland (10) and Trinidad & Tobago (11).
The tournament opens with a showpiece moment for the Thistles as we take on world number two New Zealand at 09:00am on 25 July. The two teams are familiar with each other having just completed a two-match series in Glasgow this November.
Scottish Thistles Co-Captain Emily Nicholl is excited about what lies ahead for the home team:
“Now that the schedule has been finalised, it brings a whole new level of excitement with it. The countdown to the Games is well and truly on! To have the honour of playing in the opening game is massive for Scotland and I can’t begin to imagine how special it will be to hear Flower of Scotland being belted out by thousands of fans. This is a massive opportunity for Netball and we can’t wait to run out at the Hydro, to the world-renowned Scottish roar and show how exhilarating the sport is.”

World Netball President, Dame Liz Nicholl DBE echoed that excitement stating:
“The Commonwealth Games is always a highlight in the international netball calendar for the players, officials, and netball family. From the very first whistle, when our hosts Scotland take to court against New Zealand, please make sure you show your support for our world class athletes both in the Hydro and online, around the world.”
Netball fans can whet their appetite for the 2026 Glasgow Games by coming along for five action packed days of Netball’s Celtic Cup which begins Wednesday November 26 at Emirates Arena. Hosts Scotland will be joined by Wales, Northern Ireland, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Namibia with three matches each day. Great seats are still available for all sessions.
