National Finals Day 2019 – The Round Up

National Finals Day is Netball Scotland’s pinnacle club event of the season and what an amazing day of netball it was!
As our National Competitions continue to grow, reaching National Finals Day is a huge achievement. Congratulations should go to all players, coaches and team managers for their hard work and dedication throughout the season.
Throughout the day we had a record numbers of spectators who created an incredible atmosphere from start to finish. The players certainly kept the crowd on the edge of their seat with some close matches and excellent play across the day.
Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side and due to unforeseen travel circumstances the scheduled Evelyn Beattie Quaich final between Kelvin Netball Club and Shetland Ladies was cancelled. Watch this space for updates on the Quaich final, we are working towards a rearranged date/venue.

This year, we were joined by Geraldine McGuire, Netball Scotland’s Head of Development and supported by Kim Wharton and Chelsea Ewing part of our National Technical Team to select our player of the match. Each game had some outstanding players which made it difficult for the panel to choose. A huge congratulations to the following players who were selected as our National Finals Day 2019 Player of the Match.

Regardless of the outcome of Saturday, we want to say a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all teams who were involved in the event, each and every one of you should be proud of all your efforts over the course of this year’s competition season.
