National League Club Spotlight: Scotstoun Storm

Overview
Newcomers Scotstoun Storm are the latest edition to the National League for the 2024/25 season. The side joins the competition coming off the back of an undefeated league season in GNA Division 1 and a strong showing in the Scottish Cup. Under the guidance of Head Coach Savannah Antoine, they bring a strong heritage of developing international-level talent and a play style built on playing as a unit and relentless defensive energy. Led by captain and Scottish Thistles squad member, Erin Boland, Scotstoun Storm are eager to make their mark, compete with intensity, and justify their inclusion in the National League.

Storm’s squad has remained almost unchanged from the side that won GNA Division 1 last season. The only departures from the squad are Rebecca McDonald and Scottish Thistle Cerys Cairns.

Coach overview:
Savannah Antoine: “We are really excited to start our journey in the National League. We’ve got a squad that has become really close these past few years and brings a strong defensive presence and a hunger to improve each game.
“Being a player-coach I’m focused on allowing players to feel confident in what they’re doing on court and have the autonomy to make decisions themselves. We’ve spent our pre-season focusing on building on-court connections by blending our 1s and 2s together regularly and on our conditioning.
“This season, we’re excited to bring our energy, passion, and years of hard work to the national stage to show what Scotstoun Netball is all about.”

Erin Bolland: “We’re buzzing to show what Scotstoun Netball can bring to the court. This season is all about having fun, working hard, and supporting each other as we gel as a squad. I’m aiming to bring positivity and energy to every game, making sure everyone feels comfortable and is ready to give their best. Together, we’re here to make an impact and enjoy every moment of this amazing opportunity.”
First Match:
Scotstoun Storm begin their maiden season in the National League at 1255 on Sunday 8 December at Pleasance in Edinburgh when they take on Bellahouston.
