Netball Scotland & Johnston Carmichael announce partnership extension to continue support for netball in Scotland

Netball Scotland and accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael are delighted to extend their partnership for a further 12 months, up to and beyond the Commonwealth Games taking place in Glasgow later this year.
With a membership of over 10,000, Netball Scotland supports clubs, players and volunteers at all levels of the game and this partnership focuses on support for junior clubs offering quality environments for young players. The continuation of the Johnston Carmichael Junior Club Development Fund will enable junior netball clubs to apply for direct funding for kit, equipment or, in the case of Bucksburn Netball Club in Aberdeen, new court dresses for their teams.
Jenn Stewart, Partner and head of CSR at Johnston Carmichael recently visited the club at their training venue to meet the coaches and young players, seeing them proudly wearing their new kit. Widening access to netball allows young people to develop more than just their love of the sport, with leadership, teamwork and resilience all key skills that come from team sports, alongside opportunities for their wider health and wellbeing.
Jenn said: “It was fantastic to visit Bucksburn Netball Club, see the team in action, and present their 2025 Johnston Carmichael Junior Club Development Fund award. Their commitment, energy and team spirit truly reflect what our relationship with Netball Scotland is all about.
“We’re incredibly proud to be extending our partnership for another year, including continued funding for the Junior Club Development Fund in 2026. Supporting clubs like Bucksburn – who used their award to purchase new match dresses for their growing squad – shows the genuine, on‑the‑ground impact of this programme and the real difference this funding makes to young athletes and their communities. That’s why Johnston Carmichael is committed to championing the development of grassroots netball across Scotland.”

The more people we can encourage to try netball and to experience its benefits the better for our society. The Johnston Carmichael Junior Club Development Fund will open for applications in May and June, with funding awards reaching junior netball clubs in time for the new season 2026/27.
