Netball Scotland names U17 Squad to compete in Europe Netball Championship

International Netball is back.
23-26th of February 2023 will see Northern Ireland host the U17 European Championship and Challenge events. Across the four days, 10 countries will face off across the competitions.
Scotland will be competing in the Championship event alongside England, Wales, Northern Ireland and UAE. With Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland and Northern Ireland Development in the Challenge section.
The Europe Netball event is the pinnacle of the U17 calendar and is the first taste of international match play for many of the athletes involved.
Discussing the athletes selected and the upcoming matches, Nikki Lloyd, Scotland U17 head coach said;
“The Europe Netball U17 Championships are a valuable opportunity for young athletes to experience all aspects of international competition and being an international athlete on & off the court.”
“It provides a platform for them to perform on the international stage against England, NI, Wales and UAE and is a critical part of a young athletes development on their pathway to international journey.”
“The U17s long squad are a talented and driven group & have consistently shown a strong desire to learn, grow and to understand what it means to represent Netball Scotland.”
“Selection was a competitive process and I am really proud of the progress the long squad have made to date and I am excited to see what the selected group can do out on court. “
For the majority of the group this will be the test and a chance to gain a first cap.
