SCOTTISH THISTLES NAME SQUAD TO FACE ENGLAND A

Scottish Thistles will play curtain raiser match in the England v Jamaica series in Manchester AO Arena, 11th January 2023.
After drawing England in their Netball World Cup pool, Captain Claire Maxwell commented “We’re really pleased with the draw, we’ve got the clash of the home nations between ourselves and England, and we know that we can go out and put some good performances in against those teams.”
Head Coach Tamsin Greenway commented “This is great prep for us as we continue to build for next summer.
We have selected a small squad for the game against England A as we want to keep exposing players to different opposition and give them quality time to find their feet under pressure Internationally.
We know that England A will pose a really good challenge, they have so many talented players throughout their pathways, and they won’t be holding back as they will be looking to get a step up into the full roses group.”

“For us, it’s great to have Bethan Goodwin back in the mix after she was unable to travel with us to South Africa.
Iona Christian will be missing this is due to a short term opportunity we have organised for her overseas. However, it gives Emma Love a real shot at playing in WA and seeing what she can deliver. Elsewhere the 2 young Cerys’s were fearless in South Africa, so I’m really excited to see how they go against this group.”
