We Are Recruiting Board Directors

These past few years have seen netball in Scotland experience a meteoric rise in profile as more people played, watched, enjoyed and invested in our beautiful sport. This success has ignited a fire of ambition and self-belief within us all of what this sport and organisation, as well as the people within it, can truly achieve. We have raised the expectations of a nation and our future has never looked brighter.

Managing the increasing demands of a rapidly growing sport and membership brings with it significant demands, and in order for Netball Scotland to appropriately support the needs and aspirations of all of our people, partners and stakeholders, we must ensure that we are led and governed by a diverse, passionate and highly skilled Board of Directors.

As we head into a new Strategic Cycle, and into an exciting new era for our sport, we are looking to recruit several new non-executive Board Directors who will deliver against our world class governance outcomes as well as support the organisation to continue to deliver exceptional results across the Board. We are looking for outstanding people from across a broad range of professional disciplines, including but not exclusively:

  • Finance
  • Commercial & Business Development
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Legal
  • Governance, Policy & Compliance
  • Operational Excellence
  • Membership
  • National & Local Policy

Terms and Conditions:

The posts are voluntary and therefore non-remunerated, although reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed according to Netball Scotland’s policies and procedures.

As stated in Netball Scotland’s Articles of Association, a Director will normally be elected onto the Netball Scotland Board at the Annual General Meeting for a three-year term. However, whenever a vacancy arises a Board Director may be Co-opted as a Director until such time of the next AGM at which an election can take place. All Directors are eligible to serve for a maximum of two terms i.e. six years in total.
