What’s Next?
Each and every one of us have a personal responsibility to be informed and to follow the Scottish Government’s guidelines to keep ourselves, our families and friends as safe as possible in our everyday lives.
Alongside this, every sector has a responsibility to identify potential risks to public health and to find solutions to mitigate these, which is why over the past few months, the Netball Scotland team have been working tirelessly in partnership with sportscotland, the Scottish Government, Local Authorities, Leisure Trusts, the Third Sector, Further and Higher Education institutions and the Home Nation Netball Governing Bodies to ensure a coordinated safe return.
We have also submitted our Return to Netball Plan to the Scottish Government and are awaiting its approval. This plan sets out a return to netball through implementation of a Modified Game.
More information will be communicated through our digital platforms and #NetballReady Hub. To ensure our clubs and members are informed and ready, during Phase 3A we will work with the Netball Family to provide training and education as we look to ensure our affiliated members, clubs and Local Associations can implement a modified game.
Please note, as we remain in Phase 3A small sided games, match-play and competitions remain suspended until further notice, pending the launch of our Modified Game Return to Netball Guidelines.
Protect Scotland App:
The Protect Scotland app from NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect is a free, mobile phone app designed to help us protect each other, reduce the spread of coronavirus and avoid further lockdowns.
We recommend using the Protect Scotland app, along with adhering to current public health measures, this will help us to stay safe when we meet up for non-contact netball training and fitness activity.
Please note, we remain in Phase 3A of our Routemap, the four key steps and full guidance covered above can be accessed on our Return To Netball Hub .
Whilst all the information for a safe return to netball is available on the #NetballReady Hub we understand there may be questions. If you have read through the guidance and have any questions, please submit them through the link below.
*These questions will be gathered, and FAQs will be created, they will not be given individualised responses.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have already pledged their support through renewing their affiliation and by getting their club #NetballReady. We also want to say a huge thank you to our Members, Clubs and Local Associations who have continued to champion our sport during lockdown, your dedication and passion for netball drives the sport forward and we are sure that with your support we will weather this storm and emerge as a sport stronger than ever.
