Scotland U17 Netball Squad Named for 2024 Europe Netball Championships in Gibraltar

Netball Scotland is delighted to announce the selection of a 12-strong U17 squad, set to represent Scotland at the upcoming Europe Netball U17 Championships in Gibraltar, scheduled from 7th to 10th March 2024.
Defending Silver in Gibraltar:
The talented squad, led by Head Coach Nikki Lloyd, supported by Assistant Coaches Katelyn Williamson and Sheryl Braidwood, and Team Manager Victoria Shaw, is gearing up for an exhilarating tournament in Gibraltar. This event will feature highly competitive matches against UAE, Wales, Republic of Ireland, and England. The Scotland U17 squad is determined to defend their silver medal position, a remarkable achievement from the previous year.

The Squad:
The selected squad comprises athletes who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and skills. Many of these players come from the Scottish Pathway, and have been participating in monthly camps since September to support their development journey toward becoming Future Thistles. A Dynamic and Talented Group:
Head Coach Nikki Lloyd expressed her excitement about the squad, stating, “This is an exciting squad of young athletes with a diverse skill set capable of producing high-quality and connected netball, full of skill, speed, power, clinical execution, and flair.”
Lloyd emphasises the importance of staying committed to their processes, values, and game strategies to ensure that the team delivers performances they can take immense pride in.

International Exposure for Growth:
In addition to their on-court goals, the Scotland U17 squad aims to gain valuable international experience, fostering their development and growth. The journey begins with a final preparation camp on 24th and 25th February, just ahead of the Championships.
